Meet Josh and Ashley. They are super-duper-majorly in love.
They're goofy and mischievous. Affectionate and sweet.
They also happen to be two of our best friends.
Ashley and I go waaaay back. Back for as long as I can remember.
Here we are at a favorite park in Northeast Ohio sometime around 2000.
About ten years later Ashley stood beside me on my wedding day. She rocked being a bridesmaid. I still remember feeling my heart fall as the attendant at the bridal shop told me that the dresses I had picked for my bridesmaids were not available in my color. Three months before my wedding date I had to change my plans. And there was Ashley, ready and willing to try on dress after dress after dress to help me solve the problem. When the final product turned out to be about $40 more, she didn't even bat an eyelash. She raved I love the dresses! And didn't just tell me her support, she showed it.
She is the truest, dearest of friends.
Three days shy of our two year anniversary, I had the honor to stand beside her on her wedding day.
As young girls you only dream of marrying men who will be best friends. For Ashley and I that dream came true. While we were awkward middle schoolers, two nerdy guys were busy double majoring in religion and philosophy at a quaint little college in a tiny little town in South Carolina. We dreamed of babies and homes of our own, and they were solving philosophical dilemmas, and arguing over the meaning of ancient texts.
On June 5, 2010, while Daniel and I were lost in the daze that naturally consumes you on your wedding day, sparks were flying between two of our best friends.
We're pretty sure that the memories we'll make together are just going to get sweeter with time.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad! <3 Love you too.
DeleteI am a little late, but these were great pictures, Ashlee. Thanks for the pictures and the post - the part about you guys being awkward middle schoolers while Daniel and I were nerdy double majors in religion and philosophy made me laugh.
