I woke up the morning of Erica's photo shoot to grey skies and slushy rain. Mr. Weatherman was predicting snow flurries. Seriously? I texted Erica and asked if she'd rather reschedule. Since we're basically next door neighbors, we could be flexible. She texted back, "Well... I've been washin' my hair." I knew that was code for Let's make the best of it! So we did, and boy, oh boy, am I glad! The creamy light inside the house was just perfect.
So very pretty, right!?!
I have this picture in my head of what Erica's baby girl is going to look like. As I was going through these pictures, this one especially made me smile. Those eyes? Baby Girl is going to have them 100%.
It was kind of snowing, so we tried a few. Not quite the big flakes that were on their way...
Erica in three words? Happy, adorable, so much fun!
We laughed and chattered through the whole session.
Erica is our church's pianist. She's been playing since she was young, and even learned to play off of a guitar tab so she could be part of a band in high school. How cool is that?
Erica's mother-in-law made these precious moccasins.
As tiny as they are, it's so incredible to know Baby Girl will have to grow into them!
Erica had two ideas for photos. [I love when my subjects have ideas!] In front of the piano, and this neat, old red chair in their kitchen. With her polka-dot dress, it was so adorable.
Then an inspiration:
Erica: Can you take pictures of me eating ice cream!?
Me: Uh, YES!!
It's just like I said: Happy, adorable, and so much fun!
As we were finishing up, Erica's husband called and insisted we go outside to take some pictures. It's not every day we get "snow flurries" this big in South Carolina. What a perfect ending to a wonderful session!
My favorite:
Erica, you are so beautiful! Motherhood is going to suit you well. I just know it. I can't wait to meet your baby girl in just a few short weeks! Thank-you for letting me capture this beautiful season for you.
Love,
Ashlee
