The first time I met Joe he was standing on my front porch with a map of Ohio opened wide in front of him. "Excuse me, but my buddy and I are kind of lost..."
Actually, they weren't lost at all. Joe and his buddy (now my husband) were just up to their usual adventures. They had road tripped it up to Ohio to surprise me, eating too much pizza and making up voices for every motorcyclist they passed along the way. We had a great weekend - my fiance, me, and Joe.
A year later Joe was the best man in our wedding, and he shared my all-time favorite quote of his: "Dan, if I'm the best man, why's she marrying you?" It was only years later that I found out he was actually quoting Seinfeld on that one. Joe, I just thought you were brilliant for saying that.
But Joe, well, he really is the best of men. And my heart bursts when I look at these pictures - not because the light was perfect, or you can tell these two people are obviously in love... those things, yes. But my heart bursts because this is Joe, one of my husband's very best friends, and he's found a girl who is just absolutely a gem, and who genuinely adores him. They are so beautiful as individuals, that together their beauty just overflows.
Enjoy the love, friends! It's kind of contagious.
